“Know
that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates
with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to
Him and bless His name.” Psalm
100:3-4
Psalm 100 is one of my favorite Psalms. Praise to God seemed to
flow from David’s heart. David truly adored God. Jesus told
us in Matthew 12:34 that ”The mouth speaks out of that which
fills the heart.” It is obvious that David’s heart was
filled with praise and love for God. We also know that David’s
life was not without difficulties. It was in those difficult times
that David was able to place his hope in God. It was through the
small steps of worshiping God in those difficult times that his
adoration of the Lord became deep and intimate.
I would encourage all of us to follow the example
of David. Praise God in those difficult times, place your hope in
God. Then we can enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts
with praise!
The Celebration
Choir, is preparing to present our Easter musical: “Arise
My Love”, on Palm Sunday, March 28 at 10:50 am. I
know that you will want to be a part of this worship experience.
The Gospel message will be presented through music and narration,
and I would encourage you to begin to pray for our Choir, and also
for those that God would have you to bring to hear this musical
message.
We have begun
our Evening Worship at 6:00 pm in our Fellowship Hall. We enjoy
a time of singing, praying and hearing God’s Word. We currently
are in a study of the book of James. Learning from God’s Word
how we can live our faith in a practical way, and have an attitude
of joy during those difficult times we experience.
We would love
for you to join us in worship. Morgan Clayton will be starting a
Children’s Choir that will meet during our evening Worship
at 6:00 PM in the Children’s Building. Watch your bulletin
for more information and starting date.

“Love
suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade
itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its
own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity,
but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-8a
What an awesome
description about love! As we enter the month of February, our thoughts
are turned to love, Valentines Day, etc. As I reflect on my walk
with God, I want these descriptions about love to be evident in
my life, and I am sure you do as well. May we all take time during
this month and reflect on the perfect love which dwells within us,
and let Him love through us. Take time to send someone a reminder
of God’s love!
The
Celebration Choir, is beginning work on our Easter musical:
“Arise My Love”, which will be
presented on Resurrection Sunday April 4th during our Morning worship
at 10:50 AM . If you are interested in being a part of this exciting
ministry come and join us each Wednesday at 7:30 PM in the Worship
Center.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless
His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His
benefits.”
Psalm 103:1-2
Wow, we certainly have been blessed by God! The psalmist David
encourages us to praise our God! He also encourages us not to forget
all of God’s blessings, and benefits. Take some time this
month to reflect on the ways God has blessed you. Thank Him for
His salvation, His daily working in your life. God is sovereign,
and is in total control of our lives!
I want to express my appreciation to our Celebration Choir, Kids
Kount Choir, and Drama Team for your faithfulness, and hard work
in preparing for our Christmas Pageant this year! The Gospel was
presented clearly through music and drama. Lives were touched. God
is to be praised for what He accomplished through us.
I also want to thank you, Morningside Baptist Church for your support,
prayers, and faithfulness in giving so we can take advantage of
these opportunities to share with our community the Good News of
the Gospel!
Our Worship Center always looks so wonderful! I would like to thank
Helen Holbrook, Connie Rimmer and our decorating team for the time
they spend in making our Worship Center so attractive!
God has truly blessed us here at Morningside with a dynamic music
ministry! I would like to invite you to participate as God leads
to join our music ministry.
Celebration Choir rehearsals will begin on Wednesday January 13th
at 7:30 pm in the Worship Center. We would love to have you join
our musical family. Child care is provided for all rehearsals.
