Women’s Ministries
W.O.W.
- Women of Worship
The WOW “ breakfast
was held on Saturday, July 11, 2009. The theme was “Freedom
to Worship Our Lord”. Linda Henry was our breakfast hostess.
She prepared a beautiful summer brunch. Thanks Linda. We opened
with prayer led by Mildred Helton. Shirley Roedder provided the
music. Her message in song was a blessing to all. Ann Sheldon led
us in the pledges to the Christian Flag, to the Bible and the American
Flag. Judy Noble shared a reading about the history of Old Glory
and a poem “Your flag and My Flag”. Helen Holbrook spoke
on the freedom we received when Jesus died on the cross. Freedom
to worship Him, Praise Him, and talk to Him anytime, anyplace. She
read the Scripture, 2 Corinthians 3:12-18. We sang “God Bless
America”. Joan Orcutt gave a report about missionary Summer
Thompson (Arleta Thompson’s daughter). Judy Noble gave her
personal testimony about how the Lord has given her freedom in her
life. It was very inspiring. We closed in praise, prayer requests
and song.
Our next W.O.W. breakfast will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009.
Our theme is “The Beauty of Summer”. Connie Rimmer is
going to be our Breakfast Hostess. Maggie Kipp will bring our special
music, Ann Sheldon will present our special program. Fun –
fun – fun – we always have fun when Ann does the special
program. We’re looking forward to that. Joan Orcutt will present
our missions report and Judy Noble will share the devotional.
Our W.O.W. Bible Study will not be meeting in the month of August.
We are taking a summer break. We will resume on September 3, 2009.
Our bible study meets every Thursday at 1:00pm in the Conference
Room (Next to the Pastor’s office). Come and join us. You’ll
be glad you did.
We’re looking forward to seeing you all at the breakfast.

“News From The Kitchen!!!”
We hope everyone
is surviving the heat. It may be hot outside, but things are still
cooking in the kitchen.
Our August “New Members Luncheon” will be held on August
16th. There have been many people away for vacations and we hope
that this month there will be a bigger turn out. Bring a neighbor
or friend and treat them to a lunch. Our luncheons are held here
in the Fellowship Hall right after church on Sunday and only cost
$5.00 and that includes drinks and desert. You can’t do better
than that in any restaurant in town.
We have just 3 more luncheons to serve for this year. Don’t
forget October’s luncheon as it will be a Thanksgiving Feast.
Bring your family and friends and fellowship with everyone. In December
we are planning a “Jesus Birthday Dinner”. We are looking
for anyone that would like to entertain that evening. Just let one
of the kitchen team members know what you would like to do.
Thank you to everyone that has brought in dish towels and dish rags
to help us out in the kitchen. We have a good supply now. God Bless
you all.
THANKS to everyone on the Kitchen Team and Clean Up Team for a Great
Job that was well done this year. Herb and Connie Rimmer, Naomi
and Bob Olson, Abel David, Jackie Morantte, Joan Orcutt, AJ (Alta
Jarvis) and all of those who stayed behind and helped to clean up.
I would also welcome a new member on our Kitchen Team, Romana Jacobo.
See you all on the 16th of August.
GOD BLESS,
The Kitchen Team

NEW MEMBER LUNCHEON CALENDAR
Our next Luncheon will be August 16, bring the whole family and
friends.

Young
Adults Without Fear is about learning to live in the chaos, growing
to know God, finding the answers to the challenging questions, and
sharing those answers with the LOST. We are a community of young
adults: students, professionals, unemployed, employed, single, married,
divorced, engaged, Marines, skeptics, devout, or simply curious
about faith and life. All young adults, regardless of background
or belief, are invited to join others in their 20's and early 30's
as we seek our place in the story of the healing of the world through
knowing God, expanding our comfort zones, and developing healthy
relationships in a non-violent, small group arena. So, take a moment
and check out our website (http://www.yawithoutfear.com)!
We meet every Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the Barnes and Noble Café
on 32nd St. and 8th Ave.
