Gilbert
K. Taeger was born in Burlington, Iowa, and raised in
Tucson, Arizona. He has been married to Mary Elizabeth for
over 34 years. They have three adopted children.
Pastor Gilbert earned his Master of Divinity degree from
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth,
Texas. He served in the US Army in Vietnam 1967-68.
He loves Jesus Christ and His church. Pastor Gilbert has
served Christ at Morningside since July 11, 1994. His
life verses are Matthew 28:18-20, Matthew 22:37, and Matthew
16:18: The Great Commission, The Great Commandment and
The Great Church Statement. Pastor Gilbert says, "I
love it when people receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior!" |

Vance, Worship/Discipleship

Jay Vance was born and raised right here in Yuma, Arizona,
and has spent most of his life in this area. Much
of that time has been spent in the music ministry.
He and his wife Carol have four children. Jay and
Carol work as a team in the music ministry at Morningside,
providing leadership in the areas of special music, choir,
and musical instruments. Jay's life verses are Psalm
30:1-12. He believes that music is a gift from God
intended to transport believers into the presence of the
Father. Jay says, "There is music for
every occasion, every season of life. Praise God
for providing us with such a precious gift!" |
